I created this bust to sell. I chose Einstein as a subject because he is a hero of mine, and seemed an interesting subject for a stone bust. I enjoyed studying the uniqness of his features. This was bought by George Bause for a show of artists works of Einstein and Freud.
Unfortunately in delivering it to him by ups it was broken and damaged. I didn't believe at the time that it could be fixed, but spent several months studying and working on the problem and was able to pull an acceptable figure from the remains.(see repairs) This was then shipped back to him and was lost in shipping by fedex. This is what prompted the creation of the second Einstein.
